(Beta Testing)
The Kalamazoo County Democrat On-Line, as both a publication and the voice of the Kalamazoo County Democratic Party, wishes to
encourage free speech and the free exchange of ideas. That is why we are introducing a new service for our guests: an on-line discussion board. Please bear in mind that this discussion board is still in
the early beta test stage, and it is likely that it will not work from time to time. Depending on how the tests go, this part of the site may or may not become a permanent fixture in the future. You are
highly encouraged to post (netspeak for "leave a message") on this board; that will help us test it and provide you a way of making your voice heard.
Rules
While we do encourage free speech and free expression, we also recognize the need to have rules to keep discussions civil. Therefore,
please make sure you follow these simple rules when posting on this discussion board:
- No foul language. No swearing is allowed. Posts with such language will be deleted.
- No libelous/slanderous statements. We absolutely will not tolerate baseless accusations, personal attacks, false or misleading information, or any of the other nonsense that is so common in heated discussions (especially when such discussions take place on the internet).
- No name-call or flame-baiting. This includes
fellow users as well as candidates, public figures, etc. Okay, we'll tolerate it if you refer to George Bush, Jr. as
"Shrub," but that is the one and only exception. (And we only make it because it's cute, not malicious.)
- Don't just make up stuff and post it as fact. We
do ask that you be willing to back up any information you post with verifiable sources.
- Stay on-topic. If a thread drifts off-topic, please start another thread for the tangent discussion.
