About This Site
Purpose and Background
This website is a publication of the Kalamazoo County Democratic Party. It is intended to serve the following purposes:
- To help keep members informed about party activities, including events and volunteer activities.
- To provide a forum for the discussion of issues important to Democrats.
- To provide non-members access to information about the county party and about membership.
- To provide all users a research tool to find out more about issues important to Democrats.
- To provide a communications tool for key members of the party
- To support local, state, and national Democratic candidates.
The site is governed by the Kalamazoo County Democratic Party Internet Oversite Committee. The webmaster and editor is Steven Shelton.
Editorial Policy
Although this site is maintained by and for the Democratic Party of Kalamazoo County, and does, therefore, reflect the views
of the party and its members, it is the policy of the editor to maintain journalistic standards, integrity, and decorum. Unlike many sites maintained directly by or in association with that other well-known party, this site will not contain hyperbole, ranting, name-calling, wild accusations or other such nonsense. Those are, after all, tactics one must use when one's position is supported by neither facts nor logic. As Democrats, we believe the facts can do nothing but help our cause. As such, it is the policy of this site and its staff to stick to the facts. For this reason, we invite corrections, questions, and comments. Complete guidelines and policies regarding the administration of this site are available.
