Celebrate the Past, But Look Forward By Curtis J. Bell |
Dear Kalamazoo County Dems:
Isn't it great to be a Kalamazoo County Democrat? We as Kalamazoo County Democrats have much to be proud of. Our previous Chair, Olga
Bonfiglio, led the party to many firsts. Under her leadership, both the Party and individual candidates raised more capital than in any previous
election year. Kalamazoo County now has its first countywide Democratic elected official in Drain Commissioner Mary Powers. The Kalamazoo County Democrats have regained the majority on the
County Commission after several decades. The list goes on of our Party's recent accomplishments. We are all thankful to Olga for her hard work and timeless dedication.
We as Democrats must also recognize all of the individual efforts and sacrifices that our members have made. There are many stories that
I—and other candidates from the last election—can tell concerning those who worked on my campaign and gave so much in time. There are so many examples of people who dug deep into their own financial
resources to help our candidates and causes. Both I and our community appreciate all you have done.
Thank you for your vote of confidence in electing me as your Party
Chair. I will strive to build on the accomplishments of our recent history. In witnessing Olga's dedication, I know that it will take more than a
single person to fill her shoes. Fortunately, I am blessed with an energetic and talented group of county officers and Executive Committee members who will work together to build a stronger party
and a stronger Kalamazoo County.
There is much work ahead. Together we can make a difference here in
Kalamazoo County, in our region, in our State, and in this, the greatest nation on Earth. I look forward to serving you for the next two years.
Sincerely,

Curtis J. Bell County Chair
